Dust off your ice-scrapers – there could be frost on the way.
Temperatures are set to drop over night and Met Office forecasters are warning there may be ice around first thing.
The whole weekend is set to be chilly throughout, with a slightly warmer day tomorrow. A few bursts of sunshine are expected later on Saturday afternoon, but temperatures will continue to hover around 8C.
“Then it will be a cold night with light winds and temperatures will fall away sharply over night and could be close to freezing,” said forecaster Steven Keates.
“There could be some car-scraper jobs in the morning.”
But it’s not all bad news – unless you prefer it on the colder side – as from Sunday, temperatures are expected to start to rise again.
“It will be sunnier in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon with some breezes picking up but the winds will be coming from the South West so temperatures will probably be getting to 12C or 13C,” said Mr Keates.
“By Wednesday you could be looking at temperatures in the high teens or even up to 20C which is pretty good going for this time of year.”
“Average temperatures for October are 13C to 14C.”
