A man who slashed a love rival in a nasty attack is starting a long spell behind bars.

Stephen Healey, 39, attacked a man with a bottle causing him to suffer five different wounds on April 13.

Healey, of Ainsdale Way, Saltersgill, Middlesbrough, was found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at a trial at Teesside Crown Court.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charge, but was convicted by a jury.

The court heard that the victim had been scarred for life as a result of the attack at a home in Stockton.

He was jailed for nine years by Judge Sean Morris.
