A new shop in Stockton aims to keep spreading the word of cannabis oil.

And to get the message across, boss Paul Kitchener wants his promotional staff to dress up as cannabis plants!

Paul, of Redcar, became involved in SurePure CBD earlier this year when he, Phil Knowlson and Brian Charrington opened a shop in Dundas Street, Redcar.

Paul had been trying to source different CBD (Cannabidiol) products for his mam, who suffered with skin cancer.

And he says the success of the Redcar shop has encouraged him to bring it to Stockton.

The new SurePure CBD shop is on Prince Regent Street.

And Paul, who runs La Rum Bar in Redcar and the Peak Image Photography business, believes there’s a big appetite for it.

He said: “I’m doing this on the back of the success of the Redcar shop.

“It’s been absolutely fantastic, the results we’re getting.”

CBD oil, extracted from the hemp plant, is legal and doesn’t get users “high” but is said by many to have huge health benefits.

It has reportedly been used to treat cancer patients, those with diabetes and high blood pressure, anxiety and depression.

Paul said: “Although it’s called cannabis oil, CBD is a product that’s found everywhere – there’s just an abundance of it in the cannabis plant. But because of our diets and 21st Century living, we don’t get enough.

“There are lots of reported benefits, but especially as a mood stabiliser and for pain relief.”

He added: “I’m so confident it will work in Stockton, I’m keeping my eyes open for shop number three.”

The new shop opens as the nearby Oscar’s Gin Bar, in Regency West Mall, is offering 6mg of CBD for £1 – to use as a supplement in gin and tonics.

And Paul is even thinking of introducing takeaway CBD tea and coffee at SurePure Stockton.

The new shop employs three people and is at 35 Prince Regent Street.
